About us
Curtin Singapore Library provides library services for all staff and students of the Curtin Singapore. It holds a collection of textbooks, as well as reference books that supports the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes Curtin Singapore offers.
As n enrolled student of the Curtin University, you will automatically gain electronic access to online resources (such as journals and articles) via the main campus Library in Bentley.
Collection
Full bibliographical records of the resources are accessible through Curtin Singapore Library catalogue OPAC. On the record, the location line tells you where to find the item. Examples are General Collection; Reserve Book Collection, and so on.

General Collection
The collection mainly supports the teaching, learning and research for both staff and students. It consists of textbooks, additional references and leisure reading books. The prefix for this collection is "G".

Reference Collection
The Reference collection contains materials such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases and bibliographies. They are for use within the Library only. The prefix for this collection is "R".

New arrivals Collection
New Arrivals Collection contains materials just arrived. They are displayed on the New Arrivals Shelf for one month; they may not be borrowed while on display but you can place Requests through the Library Counter.

Reserve book Collection
The collection consists of prescribed textbooks or essential texts stated in the unit outlines recommended by the unit controllers. Materials with high demand will be put under this collection as well. Reserve books have a white dot on the spine. This collection can be borrowed for 2 hours at a time.

Teacher resources
The collection consists of textbooks, instructor's manuals, solutions, test banks and others resources related to teaching. This collection is strictly used by the lecturers only. The prefix for this collection is "L".

Periodicals
Latest issues of general interest journals are kept on periodical shelves. Previous issues are stored on the flat shelves below. The prefix for this collection is "P".

Newspapers
Daily newspapers such as Straits Times, Business Times and Lianhe Zaobao are available for browsing at Leisure Reading Corner in the library.

Newspaper clippings
The Newspapers Clippings collection is a collection of local newspapers articles on Curtin Singapore Campus since 2009 to present.
Library Code of Conduct
The Library is dedicated to provide a safe and welcoming place for students and staff and for library staff to carry out their duties. These rules are necessary to:
- Protect the rights of individuals to use library property, materials, and services
- Protect the rights of library employees to conduct library business without interference
- Ensure the safety of library users and staff
- Preserve library materials and facilities from harm
Conduct of library users
- Behaviour or language that is disruptive, abusive, insulting, harassing or threatening to Library users or staff is not permitted.
- To maintain a quiet study atmosphere in the library only whispering or soft talking is permitted.
- Food, beverages, and smoking are not permitted in the library.
- Academic work in the library is the priority.
- Mutilation and theft of library materials are serious offenses. Offenders will be penalised and payment must be made to cover all damaged.
- Copyright rule should be strictly observed by all library users when making copies of library materials.
- Reservation of seats in the library is not permitted.
- Personal belongings should not be left unattended. The library will not be responsible for any loss or damages of personal belongings. Books and other materials left unattended may be removed by library staff and taken to Library Counter.
- The library has a security system and Close Circuit TV to safeguard library materials and property. If the alarm sounds, return to the Library Counter.
- Users should be aware of Curtin Singapore computer use policy
Users who violate these policies will be asked to show their Curtin Singapore ID card. The library will keep a record of the violation.
Repeat violators will be reported to the Pro Vice Chancellor's office. Library privileges may also be suspended and a sanction will be placed on their student record.
