Attendance
Students who fail to meet the required attendance will not be allowed to take the final examination regardless of previous work submitted.
International students on a student pass
According to the Immigration Act (Chapter 133), Regulations 21 of the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA), students must not be absent from classes for a continuous period of seven (7) days or more and the percentage of attendance for the course in any of the month should not be 90% or below without valid reason. Student Pass holders who are unable to attend classes due to illness will be marked as absent.
Curtin Singapore is required to report International Students to ICA if they fail to fulfill the course attendance requirement. Ultimately, students with poor attendance (attendance under 90%) have a greater chance of failing their units. Curtin Singapore will take into account any medical certificates, other submitted evidence, and satisfactory results when making a final decision regarding your enrolment status.
Students must obtain a medical certificate from a registered practitioner and submit all medical certificates to Curtin Singapore. Students need to attend all classes and activities on time. A student will be marked as absent for the time the student is late to class.
In view of the ICA requirement, some students may be required to attend self-study sessions in the library. Students will receive information on self-study sessions during Orientation Day.
Students need to provide Curtin Singapore with updated current address and contact number within seven (7) days of arrival in Singapore. Students must inform Curtin Singapore within seven (7) days of effective change of any change in address and/or contact number.
Local students
Under the new EduTrust scheme, local full time students are required to obtain 75% attendance.
