The Singapore Case Trust for Education Scheme has been customised specifically by CASE (Consumer Association of Singapore) for the education industry in Singapore. The scheme will enhance and protect the interests and confidence of all international and foreign students and their parents in the quality of education in Singapore.
One important aspect of CaseTrust for Education is the Student Protection Scheme (SPS), which aims to protect students against loss of tuition fees due to malpractice by the course providers. It is compulsory for foreign students and is an optional choice for local students. Achieving CaseTrust for Education status certifies that Curtin Singapore puts into place good quality and student welfare practices and standards.
CASE-Approved Student Contract
The CASE-Approved Student Contract is a legally binding contract between Curtin Singapore and Curtin Singapore students that embodies the following mandatory requirements:
- Clear definition of course details - course title, pre-requisites, qualification awarded, course duration
- Full disclosure of all costs for tuition/non-tuition fees
- Commitment to Student Protection Scheme (Curtin Singapore has adopted the NTUC Student Tuition Fee Insurance scheme for its students)
- Clear definition of refund policies
- Clear definition of dispute resolution mechanisms
Curtin Singapore students, both local and international will be issued with a CASE-Approved Student Contract upon enrolment into a course.
Student Protection Scheme
One important aspect of CaseTrust for Education is the Student Protection Scheme (SPS), which aims to protect students against loss of tuition fees due to malpractice by the course providers. It is compulsory for international students and is an optional choice for local students.
The SPS serves to protect the international and local students' fees in the event that a PEO is unable to continue operations due to insolvency and/or regulatory closure. Furthermore, the SPS protects the student if the PEO fails to pay penalties or to return fees to students arising from judgements made against it by the Singapore Courts.
Curtin Singapore has put in place the Student Tuition Fee Insurance as its SPS for international and local students. The Student Tuition Fee Insurance offers insured students protection against the following events:
- Loss of tuition fees paid in advance by the insured student to Curtin Singapore and not refunded, if the student cannot start or complete his/her course as a result of Curtin Singapore becoming insolvent or being required by the Singapore authorities to stop operations.
- Curtin Singapore failure to pay sum awarded by Singapore Courts to the insured student, where such award relates to a dispute between Curtin Singapore and the insured student on tuition fees paid by the insured student to Curtin Singapore.
- S$10,000 benefit payable covering the insured student's accidental death or total permanent disability by accident.

Certificate of Student Insurance
Upon payment of the insurance premium, NTUC Income will issue a Certificate of Student Insurance to Curtin Singapore for the insured student.
